Amimoto Amimoto is a small 'lunch box' style Japanese restaurant in Surfers Paradise's Lido arcade, but they serve what is by far the best traditional Japanese food on the coast. It's fresh, it's fantastic it's full of local Japanese residents and tourists, and the best dish on the menu won't set you back more than $15. Find them (behind the curtains) about half way down the Lido arcade, which runs between the Gold Coast Highway and Orchid Ave (Opposite the Chevron Renaissance). Domanis Domanis is one of the best Italian restaurants in Queensland, let alone the Gold Coast. The service is fast and friendly and the food is so mouth-watering you'll be telling all your friends about it for weeks to come. They've just got a new menu too! Shuck So named because they shuck the oysters themselves - you won't find fresher, better, more innovate seafood than this on the Gold Coast. From their sand crab lasagne to what could possible be THE best fish and chips in the world, Shuck is a truly unique Australian restaurant. Food is pricey, but worth it. Southport Surf Lifesaving Club For about $33 you can sit in the bistro with a view halfway across the Pacific Ocean to South America, eat a seafood platter big enough to feed three people and chug down schooners of beer straight from the tap. You can't get much more Aussie than that. Find the club at the start of Main Beach Parade just past the turnoff to Seaworld and the Spit.
